It’s time for your sneak peek at my entry into the 2015 ANLD Designers Garden Tour. Dave and Margaret have been busy in their garden and it looks great. When I visited the Armentrout garden early this month, I was planning on giving them some handy hints for perking up the garden. Instead I found a spring time wonderland. Flowers were already blooming; the fountain was bubbling over with glee and the garden pixies have been working overtime making the moss on the rock wall seem as if it had been there for decades. That was a designer’s delight.
We spent some time admiring the garden and discussing how to fill in some sparse areas and discussed a possible fountain for the front garden. We also chatted about color palette for the pots. It’s always nice to keep the pots to two or three colors to provide unity. Most of the containers in my yard are green or terracotta.
The Association of Northwest Landscape Designers has put on this tour for 11 years. It represents the finest work of Oregon’s top designers. This year’s tour features eight intriguing gardens from Bethany to Lake Oswego. The tour is Saturday June 20th from 10 am until 4 pm. Invite your friends and make a day of it. You may glean more information and purchase tickets at http://www.anld.com/garden-tour/2015-garden-tour. Discounts will be on sale until early May.
